The mice are winning

Our car is ten years old, but everything still works as it should. We have talked about buying a newer vehicle, but weren’t in any hurry to do it.

We knew we have had mice in the garage and have tried to remove things that would attract them and have placed several poison bait stations around the garage. We knew they had gotten into the car, so we removed the box of tissues and the shopping bags and didn’t see any more evidence of mouse activity.

Boy, were we wrong! We took our car to an auto body shop for a small repair due to a deer collision. They found mice in the headliner and evidence of mouse damage in the trunk insulation and under the seats. Our insurance company estimates the damage at almost the value of the car and they have decided to write it off.

The mice are gone from our car now, it is fully functional and it’s hard to let it go. But their payout offer for the car is quite reasonable. So we are about to begin car shopping. We are also planning to wage all out war on any mice that venture into our garage.

That’s my tale of woe. My advice to readers:
